In other news, today I discovered that Diet Jolt Cola actually does exist. Lame. I mean Jolt Cola is legendary but Diet Jolt Cola? C’mon. That’s like diet cinnamon rolls or low calorie deep dish pizza.

We’ll be in Costa Mesa tonight doing a few songs in-studio on KOCI 101.5 Revolution Radio. The show is from 8:30-10pm. There’s no set list. In fact, it’s probably going to be pretty stripped down…rhodes, acoustic, shakers, vocals. Should be a lot of fun.
The On-Air Studio request line for tonight’s show is 949-650-1015. Call in a request a few songs.
If you aren’t in the local area, you can listen on-line @ www.kociradio.com.
Hello, hello, hello…forgive us for being a little quiet on the communication as of late — we’ve been working on a lot things behind the scenes. One of those things is the SXSW Music Festival. We’re leaving in a couple of weeks to play the Austin Music Hall on Thursday March 18th with Stone Temple Pilots. Exact times have yet to be announced but keep checking the tour section and our twitter account for all the latest details. SXSW will be part of a little Southwest jaunt through Arizona, Nevada and Texas.
We’ve also been included in Alternative Press’s latest issue of “100 Bands You Need To Know In 2010″. Pick up a copy. They made us do fancy stuff like take an exclusive photo and do an interview.

Tuesday night, we’re playing The Continental Room in Fullerton. We really like the bar and the vibe there so I put together this flyer for the show. This will be our last show in Southern California before we tour the Southwest a bit in March.

We just got word from the OC Music Awards that we’ve been nominated for an OC Music Award in the “Best Indie” category. Ironically, we’ve been “pitted against” a lot our friends: The New Limb, The Steelwells, The Union Line and Young The Giant. It’s kinda like playing a heavily wagered round of golf with close friends — really fun, kinda uncomfortable, and undoubtedly ends with a reminiscing round of stiff drinks.
We also have a showcase coming up in a few weeks for the “Best Live Band” category. Here’s all the details on that show:
Tues. 2/16, 7:30pm – Gypsy Lounge, Lake Forest (FREE, 21+)
8:00 Duress (Huntington Beach)
8:45 The New Limb (Costa Mesa)
9:30 Dusty Rhodes and the River Band (Fullerton)
10:15 Stereofix (Costa Mesa)
11:00 The Color Turning (Santa Ana)
Crowd support is definitely considered by the judges so it would be nice to see as many of your pretty faces as possible.

Remixes are fun.
Well, let me rephrase that. Good remixes are fun.
Ramsey Dau, a.k.a. False Future, recently remixed “Where The Sky Ends” off our LP Good Hands Bad Blood.
After hearing this edit, we’ve been mulling over releasing an actual remix record. We’ll see what happens. I might try my hand at one of the other songs.

Check out the flyer. It’s our friends’ Helen Earth Band’s CD release party. And yes, they are beautiful too.

This is a rework of a song called “Ghost Song” off of our Good Hands Bad Blood LP. Filmed and recorded on October 30, 2009. It may be available for release in the near future along with other various LP remixes.

Not many people had a chance to see this (since I only posted it to our Twitter account), so I thought I would bring it back from the dead. Scientists around the globe having been calling me regarding this frisbee experiment. It’s life saving stuff. It took place in Oregon at the Rowena Crest / Columbia River Gorge during August 2009 West Coast Tour.
