We’ve just confirmed a Silverlake Lounge residency for every Monday night in December. Yes, all 5 Mondays in December. (I love/hate when that happens.) In the spirit of the holiday season, we’re going to be playing with various bands occupied by friends mostly. It should be intimate, a little chilly and very much joyous.

And for all you who want to get a little more use out of their Halloween costume, we’re playing October 30th @ Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa with good friends: Yellow Red Sparks , Daniel Morones , and Telegram . If you haven’t heard any of these bands yet, please come.

“Good Hands Bad Blood” Release Date Pushed Back

We’ve had many questions about the actual release/street date of our upcoming album “Good Hands Bad Blood”. In the interest of getting some promotional elements in order, the best answer we can give at this time is “Spring ‘09″. And we promise to never promise that won’t change. But it’s looking more and more like “Spring ‘09″ means “March ‘09″. Because you know what the end of March means - that’s right - SXSW . We’re hoping to see you in Austin TX with our new album in hand.

Mixing Update - Good Hands Bad Blood LP

Hey guys, it’s time for a quick update.

After taking a break so Mr. Weiland could work on his new solo record, we’re back in Burbank with producer Doug Grean putting the final touches on our upcoming record - “Good Hands Bad Blood”. As you may or may not know, we’re staring down a batch of 15 songs. I’m sitting on the couch in the lounge right now. Day 2 means we need to finish more songs than we did yesterday. And that’s not good considering we spent 10 hours on six songs. Today we have nine.

All these songs won’t ultimately end up on the record, but we’ll see. Here’s our complete scope of work.

Simply put, the Dodge Theatre is a wonderful venue (with a super nice staff). And they like to use their AC. It was bloody hot outside (over 100 degrees) but a cool 65 degrees inside. Huge thanks to Stone Temple Pilots and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club for making us feel so welcome on the tour.

Our return home from our mini-tour with Stone Temple Pilots and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club was bittersweet. It’s been like Prom your senior year. On one hand, we couldn’t have asked for a nicer group of people to spend our time and play music with. STP and BRMC are rare people. It’s a beautiful thing.

On the other hand, we are now home. Although home is good (for obvious reasons, i.e. warm bed, family and friends), these last 4 shows merely served as a wake up call to how much we all enjoy playing live.

We would like to thank STP a million times over for taking us on the road with them.

STP, BRMC, and GHBB

What? C’mon. You know we love acronyms. Let me explain. We’ve got some new shows booked for the end of this month with STP (Stone Temple Pilots) and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (BRMC). We’ll be playing a lot of new songs from our upcoming record “Good Hands Bad Blood” (GHBB). We are truly honored to be playing these shows. I actually try not to think too much about it really. I start to trip out.

Our show in Tucson with STP and Frank Black was amazing.

The production involved is off the charts. A team of unionized black shirts spent the entire afternoon setting up an enormous video wall, lights, monitor setup, instrument backline, etc. I guess its ironic then that our line check was pushed up so close to the start of the show, that none of had time to change our clothes. Being that we were in the bloody desert heat of Arizona, I was adorned in a dirty white v-neck, cut-off black shorts and a pair of TOMs. I felt a little silly, but it was what it was. We all embraced it and laughed at each other. Like Fred Durst and his red Yankee hat , I might make cut-off black shorts my “lucky show outfit”. Or not. After the show, I spoke with Dan Schmid (bassist for Frank Black) for what seemed like 45 minutes. Really nice guy. Good peeps. Good peeps.

Arizona Shows & Free Download “Me vs Me”

Our show with Stone Temple Pilots and Frank Black is this Wednesday. That sounds so stupid. Almost as stupid as our van — it simply will not run anymore. Midway Rentals, see you in the morning. Our rental has AC, so that means we won’t have to turn the heater on through the Arizona desert to keep the engine from overheating. Anyway, needless to say, we’re all extremely excited for Wednesday. None of us are accustomed to playing shows of this magnitude, and we’re honored that STP invited us to play.

Free what?

We’ve pre-released an early version of a new song off our upcoming record "Good Hands Bad Blood" entitled "Me vs Me". We’re opening up both shows with it this week, so learn all the words! Oh and it’s not mastered yet, so turn it up a few more notches than you normally would. Enjoy. -Steve

It’s crazy. It’s viral. It’s maddening. As you can see if you’re reading this, the website has received a face lift. In my haste to get it up, I accidentally wiped out the database containing all our news. Oh well, it could be worse. The TCT glass is half full. We can now start anew. -Steve
