GHBB LP available 8/6 @ Detroit Bar, actual release date pushed to 8/7

Steve wrote this on August 4th, 2009 | 2 Comments »

We just received word that, contrary to what we posted yesterday, our record will not be available today.  The official release of Good Hands Bad Blood is being moved to this Friday, August 7th.

The good news is that we will have actual physical copies of the LP on Thursday at our Detroit Bar record release party.  The Detroit Bar is a place close to our hearts.  And we could not be more excited about this show.  We’ve seen and played many great shows there, and developed a lot of good relationships in the confines of that bar.  It’s more than a fitting venue to celebrate the release of our first full-length record.  Hope to see you there!

Tomorrow, August 4th, marks the release of our first full length record Good Hands Bad Blood!

Good Hands Bad Blood will be available via iTunes and other select digital/actual record stores.  Of course, we’ll have copies of the LP at all our shows.

If you want to buy a physical copy (which is highly recommended…artwork is still cool!) you can do so on Thursday August 6th when we celebrate the release of the record at Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa. We’re playing with our good friends, Yellow Red Sparks and The New Limb.

Good Hands Bad Blood LP Release Party!

I’ll post a direct iTunes link tomorrow for those of you that want to purchase it digitally.  You’ll then have 2 days to learn all the songs and sing along at the show on Thursday.

Man hugs.

After writing that post title, I feel like Crazy Gideon – you know, that guy on local Los Angeles cable TV who screams nonsense at the top of his lungs about how he can’t believe he’s offering so much stuff for almost free.  Anyway…

New York City

New Yorkers!  We’re flying out to your wonderful city tomorrow for a few shows.  That is, if we make it to LAX on time.  It’s 2am and I haven’t finished packing yet.  Ugh.  Gotta wake up early and deal with taping up and securing my equipment before the flight.  We’re backlining a ton of gear but bringing stuff like guitars, pedals, keyboard, cymbals and percussion.  Let’s hope we get the less “aggressive” airline luggage crew.

It’s our first time out to the East Coast so we’re really excited.  If you see half a guitar and keyboard hanging out of a taxi cab, it’s probably us.  Stop and say hi.  We have two shows on Thursday — The Cake Shop (6:30pm) and Fontana’s (9:35pm).  Check out our tour section for all the details.

Album Art & New West Coast Tour Dates

Over the past few days, I’ve been tweeting about the progress of the Good Hands Bad Blood album artwork, and now it’s now finally time for the ubiquitous LP cover art revelation.

Good Hands Bad Blood LP - The Color Turning

The LP artwork concept was inspired by a photo David took during a visit to Mexico.  All the illustrations and watercolor were done by the wonderful Jenna Gibson.  I spent the last few weeks pecking away at the layout.  The lyrics read a lot like a ragged book of some sort.  A very, very ragged book.  We hope you enjoy it, we do.

West Coast Tour Dates

As our August 4th release date approaches, so do new tour dates.  We start off by visiting New York city for the first time at the end of month.   Then we fly home to play our record release (w/ The New Limb & Yellow Red Sparks!) before heading up the coast and into Canada.  Here are confirm dates so far.  More dates are in the works so continue to check our tour page.

See you soon!

Hey folks. Photos, photos and more photos. This second set of photos from our West Coast Tour in May necessitated 9 pages. These are in chronological order, documenting our travels through Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Canada, Washington, Oregon and a lot of places in between. In fact, mostly the places in between. Enjoy!
